Divine Emperor of DeathDivine Emperor of Death
Davis wondered what kind of treasures he would find in the Lunarisse Empire's Treasury.
He was tempted to go right now and return home later. He didn't need to make trips twice. That would take a toll on Stella.
However, there was one doubt he had.
"Your old master seems like a good person." Davis opened his mouth, "Your loyalty was not misplaced if she would care about your life than some treasures. However, I don't know what happened behind the scenes. Your old master could've merely not been able to go to the Ivory Moon Sanctuary Lower Realm and retrieve the treasure without anyone impeding her."
"Are you implying that she used me?" Illumina Lunarisse asked.
Her expression remained the same, but her voice definitely sounded displeased.
"Not implying." Davis chuckled, "Just a probability…"
"…"
Illumina Lunarisse stared at Davis before she sighed, "I also felt that could've been the case, considering I got caught almost instantly as though someone had informed my appearance in this city. However, I don't think it would be my Empress. Most likely, someone in the family she married to leaked my information. They might probably know that she is a Lunarisse now since I made quite a scene when intruding into their hidden area."
"I hope it is the case for your own sake."
Davis nodded, "Regardless, you belong to me now. I won't let you say you forgot that you would do anything for me after rescuing this little girl."
"…"
Illumina Lunarisse's heart shook.
The time has come to finally repay her debts. She didn't know in what way he would demand but was prepared for anything, causing her to nod.
"I won't go against you as long as it doesn't involve the Lunarisse Empress and her close family. My being is henceforth, yours to command~"
"…"
Davis stared at her. He didn't speak anything, but inwardly, he didn't know what to say.
He was going to add that he was kidding after some time, but she quickly gave her answer. He had only intended to tease her but now found it difficult to say that it was a joke. He wanted to take advantage of her newfound loyalty, changing her bloodline and fulfilling his own desire to research the evolution of bloodlines.
He couldn't believe she took his words seriously, especially when he uttered that she could leave a few seconds ago.
"D-Don't… Please don't be hard on senior sister…"
The silver-haired little girl, who was silent, abruptly spoke up, her voice shuddering. She had heard how the Divine Emperor of Death was an Anarchic Divergent, an absolute being of calamity, but contradictorily saved her senior sister from demise in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm.
It was supposed to be a sure death.
She was scared but also conflicted, not knowing how to view him, but the pressure he gave was enormous, to say the least.

Davis's gaze fell on the little girl.
He felt a bit guilty about not saving her of his own volition, but if he did that, he was afraid he would try to fulfill his own sense of justice constantly while accidentally forgetting about his family. When they all got teleported to the true immortal world, he inwardly made the decision to become evil if need be, after all.
Even now, he had only saved her and didn't free the other slaves even though he could order it. However, doing so would only invite more suspicion on Taiwu.
An unscrupulous merchant suddenly turning good would invite suspicion from many, including their own. He didn't forget that the Opulent Shell Company also had other Autarchs as investors or directors who oversaw other trades in other realms.
Manta Ramperouge, a Level One Autarch he met at the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm, was one such person. They would probably all convene for the grand auction that was supposed to happen in twenty-one days.
"You are the last Lunarisse Empress's granddaughter?"
"Yes… although I only became aware of it recently…" The little girl obediently answered, lowering her head as she was unable to withstand his gaze.
"Don't worry," Davis smiled and softly said, "You will be safely delivered to your grandmother. After that, your senior sister is free to follow me of our own will. I don't need a subordinate serving two masters unless the other master is under my jurisdiction."
"Thank you, big brother… Thank you for saving me."
The little girl stood up and bowed her head.
"What's your name?"
"Illumina Ravendel…" The little girl replied shyly, causing Davis to blink as he shot a look at Illumina Lunarisse.
They practically had the same name.
"Your grandmother named you after her?"
"Yes… she heard that senior sister was going to be executed in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm and named me after her."
The little girl held her senior sister's hand, looking at her with adoration in her eyes. She was named after her and was also saved by her. She couldn't feel any more grateful, wanting to protect her senior sister even if she had to stand in front of a fiend.
But after talking a bit, the devil no longer seemed as scary as before.
Davis also felt that he was wrong about the Lunarisse Empress. There was no way she could've predicted that he would save Illumina Lunarisse, so it must be true that they see each other like sworn sisters.
"Illumina Lunarisse, what about your fellow inmates? Where are they?"
"They're all in the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm along with Lest Mistwalker. We- they have started their own bandit group and are trying to break into the next stage as soon as possible so they can head to the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm and grow faster."
"I see…" Davis nodded.
"Very well. If nothing goes wrong, we'll be returning to your home tomorrow so you can reunite with your family. Illumina Lunarisse, although I declared you mine, you still have the opportunity to back out. After we leave your junior sister there, make your own decision as well. I won't hold it against you."
Davis smacked the table lightly and stood up, leaving them to their devices.
Illumina Lunarisse's eyes were wide. She couldn't understand him. Did she belong to him or not? How could he let her go?
She was fully aware that she could be used, but as she said, she was willing to die for him. Did he not want her?
Such questions reverberated in her mind.
Davis went to find Flamerose and Frostrose.
They were in another hall, looking bored, but as soon as he appeared, they stood up like lightning struck them.
"Oh, you're back."
Flamerose blinked, her ears turning red for no reason, but Davis knew exactly why.
