Divine Emperor of DeathDivine Emperor of Death
"Hehe~ You got yelled at."
Tia secretly giggled while Mystic Diviner Hailac briefly looked at everyone's faces.
Vereina could only shrug. She learned to be shameless from a young age, or she couldn't survive. Her master was a righteous path defector, so she could be said to be from the wicked path, but not exactly since she was mostly neutral, only attacking those who tried to harm her.
Davis didn't know any of the exchanges in the life ring as he fastened his pace to make up for the time he spent on Vereina.
He went to every nook and corner, fighting off the strange dark shadow wraiths as though he were exploring a dark dungeon. He killed as many as thirty of them in this space, all at the Level Four Empyrean Stage and very few at the Level Five Empyrean Stage. It took him a few hours to clear out the entirety of the fifth level, which consisted of four expanding pathways that swirled around the corners before all of them met at the entrance to the fifth level.
Amidst one of those four paths, there was a hiding place as the wall caved inside, forming a low-lying space. It was small and claustrophobic but served as a good hiding place.
He used light energy to clear the surroundings and the hidden place before bringing out a purple-robed woman.
"What do you think, Stella?"
He displayed the place to her.
Stella floated. She peeked inside to look and saw darkness encasing the walls, refusing to die out. The space was small, but she nodded at him.
"It doesn't matter how small the space is as long as it's stable. I only need a single point and some space around it to create a very small mini-realm. I doubt it could even be called a mini-realm, considering how tiny it is, something I would be able to create as an Immortal Foundation Stage Void Dust Tree, but it still uses the realm seed all the same. It's a waste but suits our needs."
Stella smiled, "Don't worry, the undulations this kind of mini-realm will create while I create is so small that I could hide it myself."
"I don't know what I would do without you, Stella." Davis's heart warmed.
Without her, he would be hard-pressed to find a safe place to hide, much less a home. He couldn't help but lean and take her lips.
"Mh~"
Stella also responded, even sneaking her tongue inside him to make it freaky.
Before Davis could get a boner, he let her go and smiled at her, "Not so fast. Finish the mini-realm, and I will reward you."
"Yes~"
Stella seemed more than excited. She instantly got to creating a mini-realm as she put her hands inside the opening and began creating a tiny mini-realm between the center of her palms.
Davis chuckled at her speed. He knew it couldn't be helped as she was waiting to do something the whole time while she was in the life ring, bored.
However, he wondered what to do about using himself as the reward.
His body belonged to his women, so this couldn't even be called a reward in his mind, but the moment he used that word, almost every single one of them became hyperactive enough to do something complicated or dangerous.
He guessed this was what they meant by the saying 'Three thousand beauties in the imperial harem', which pointed to the competition among the women to gain the Emperor's favor and be rewarded. It was such an honor that they were addicted to receiving his praise and affection, which was brought by their own actions instead of being freely given.
'I try to be the Emperor who evenly showers the exquisite garden with rain and dew though…' Davis chuckled to himself.
Nonetheless, even standing closely, Davis could barely feel the spatial undulations from what Stella was doing. He was impressed beyond compare. This sort of spatial creation ability was not something he could learn at the moment. It was very difficult, but he was confident he could do it one day with enough learning and practice.
At the same time, he brought Vereina out and had her clear the ones nearby first.
Then he tried to use the soul-devouring technique to store it so he could spare Vereina from danger and venturing out, but it was difficult since he only learned the devouring and refining aspects of it.
Of course, he could store it, but it would be in his soul sea, chained around his soul essence and anchored by Fallen Heaven, which he wanted to avoid. It wasn't like Vereina's soul physique, which had its own storing capacity. There was no telling who that aura belonged to and how perceptive it was. Therefore, he didn't want to take the risks.
He split into a soul body and had it accompany Stella while he went around with Vereina, allowing the latter to absorb and refine the fallen dark shadow wraith remnants.
However, he didn't go too far. They were still within that particular pathway.
At the eleventh remnant, Vereina's aura underwent a sudden change.
Davis's gaze flickered as he knew her soul physique was transforming once again, trying to break through the bottleneck to the Empyrean Grade.
It was a mythical realm even to him as someone who was born with Empyrean Grade Physiques were like supreme geniuses in the Greater Realms. Even among those who attended the competition in the collapsing Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, he didn't see one supreme genius with an Empyrean Grade Physique.
He guessed they were mostly all in the Greater Realms or had no need to place their hopes on something as ridiculous as refining an entire Minor Realm and waste their lives if it failed. No one would've believed it until it happened. He bet they were slightly regretting their decision now as the realm concoction was indeed complete, and the name of that genius who ate that pill resounded far and wide.
The three ephemeral heads of Vereina grew more solid and creepier as more horns appeared. Her three horns grew to six, and canines appeared to sneak out of her lips. She looked more ferocious, and her aura grew more terrifying and sinister. Her manifestation was no different than that of a wrathful, evil goddess.
The runic tattoo on her tongue also changed shapes, but Davis was not aware of that as she kept her mouth closed, although he could see purple light release from her lips.
She was now practically a devil in human form.
Finally, the changes all died down, and Vereina stood up to meet his gaze
Once the crimson-gold murderous glow in her eyes faded, it could be seen she was looking at him gratefully.
"I don't know what to say… I'm deeply indebted to you."
Vereina said in a soft voice that was unlike her. Her path to becoming an Empyrean was now clear. All she had to do now was obtain a suitable cultivation manual.
Davis couldn't help but smile. He began walking back to Stella, and she followed him.
"If you feel indebted, protect my family while I'm not there. Right now, I want every force that I can get my hands on so that alone would be a big help."
"Mhm~"
Vereina hummed in acceptance. Her mood was great, and he wasn't bullying her, which made her feel like the world was hers.
"By the way, do you still want the King-Tier Six-Headed Hydra Fey's soul essence?"
"…!"
