Hearing Ren Jing’s words, Ye Chen immediately blushed. It was so embarrassing!
But they had smoothly shot several scenes today, finally arriving at the crucial moment. He had to keep going!
Ye Chen tried to recall his lines and noticed that he wouldn’t have any more lines. Rather, he would need to…
Director, “Cut!”
Director Li hurriedly came running to Ye Chen and said, “Don’t be shy! Grab his collar and kiss him vigorously!”
Right, this was what was written in the following script. Hearing Yan Han say such outrageous words, Zhan Chen who had drunk himself into a mess then grabbed Yan Han’s collar and planted a kiss on his lips. Afterwards, the two were set ablaze like bundles of dry firewood.
Ye Chen felt embarrassed because of Ren Jing’s words. He kept on saying ‘make love’ again and again. Even though it was only a line, it was still…still…
Certainly, Director Li—with his filter—thought that Ye Chen was feeling embarrassed because of the kiss scene later.
He even seriously gave Ye Chen an idea how to make it work, “No need to kiss him purposely, just make sure your lips touch. The result would be better if you do it naturally!” You sure know a lot, Straight Man Li.
Ye Chen shot in a lot of shooting sites: a bar, roadside, inside the car, and a hotel. Now, he was ostensibly awakened from a drunken sleep, feeling particularly alert.
Director Li kept on mentioning the kiss. He had no idea that Ye Chen would be quite nervous about it at all.
After they were done…done with the kiss, Ye Chen would have to take his clothes off!
Gu Xi interrupted, “Enough already. He has become shy because you keep saying that to him even though he wasn’t before.” He shot a glance at Li Fu with disdain.
Li Fu, “…” I’m so wronged! But what he said seems to be somewhat reasonable…
Ye Chen hurriedly mediated their dispute and said, “Let’s continue, it’s not early anymore!”
The staff were preparing to shoot the next scene in full blast.
Ye Chen took a glance at Ren Jing and noticed that the other was also looking at him. He immediately curled his fingers up.
Kissing, huh…
They had done it a lot of times. It wasn’t going to be an artificial respiration this time, they would kiss for real. They should just not worry too much about it and do whatever they should do.
But Ye Chen felt somewhat nervous.
It was fine no matter how intimate they were in private, but having to kiss in front of so many people and cameras was really…
Ren Jing said under his breath, “Just relax, no need to think too much.”
Ye Chen raised his head and looked at him, his eyes glittering when he asked, “Would it be alright?”
Ren Jing stared at his lips for a while before saying confidently, “It would be alright.”
He was actually saying these words to himself rather than Ye Chen.
The shooting continued as the script supervisor shouted k2018;action’.
Ren Jing didn’t repeat his sentence anymore. He just had to maintain his cold ironic smile.
Although Ye Chen had spoiled the mood, he didn’t need to say anything at this moment. It shouldn’t be too difficult to just move.
The moment he got up, he pulled Ren Jing’s collar then kissed him crudely.
Ren Jing was obviously startled at first, but he then seized the initiative before long. He held the back of Ye Chen’s head, deepening the tender kiss.
Ye Chen didn’t think too much about it. He quietly bore with it as he felt the immense amount of sorrow from his partner.
His heart trembled as countless emotions were welling up in his mind.
Ren Jing had been waiting painfully in silence for fourteen years. Ren Jing had been loving him for so long…
What would have happened if Death System didn’t exist?
He would die. When Ren Jing knew that he had died, what would happen to him?
Would Ren Jing…be able to accept it?
His heart was seized with fear like it was bitten by a poisonous snake. Ye Chen felt his eye sockets burning, a teardrop was trickling down his face.
Director Li who was looking at the camera suddenly widened his eyes. He had bewilderment written across his whole face.
Wonderful! Truly wonderful! This wasn’t written in the script. It was completely Ye Chen’s own ad-lib, but this emotional outburst was pretty well done.
He had expressed the feelings of a daunting and desperate love nicely. He knew very well that he was falling into the abyss, yet he wouldn’t turn back, because at the deepest and darkest place, stood the person he had been yearning for.
His tears actually added that vital finishing touch!
Gu Xi knitted his brows deeper. He knew Ye Chen and his acting skills very well. If this was him acting, then he would change his name into Fatty Gu from now on.
That being said…what in the world was going on? What…happened to Ye Chen?
As soon as he let go of Ye Chen, Ren Jing was shocked. “Chen Chen…”
His voice was very faint, but he had no choice but to keep on acting.
Ye Chen recklessly wiped his tears away. Just as he was about to open his mouth, Director Li walked with vigorous strides towards him and began to mouth off. He kept on praising Ye Chen continuously without any break. How he wished he could earnestly hand over the title ‘Movie King’ from Ren Jing’s head to Ye Chen’s!
Ye Chen’s mood suddenly cleared up because of blind Director Li’s interruption. He laughed and said, “You’re exaggerating… I was just…”
Ren Jing was still looking at him.
Ye Chen smiled at him then comforted him, “I was simply feeling Zhan Chen’s emotions and felt very sad all of a sudden.”
Ren Jing had doubts written on his face.
Ye Chen said in a low voice, “I’m a bit tired. Could we call it a day once we’re done with this part?”
Director Li, “Of course! We’ve been making good progress anyway!”
Ye Chen took a look at Ren Jing. Ren Jing moved his lips. “Let’s continue then.”
The next part required Ye Chen to take off his clothes. Surprisingly, the supposed most difficult part wasn’t actually that difficult.
Since it would be faked, he only took off everything above the waist, the lower part was still fully dressed. Afterwards, Ren Jing kissed his body. The atmosphere became more ambiguous in the later part. Since they were at the set, they obviously weren’t going to go so far as to…
After staring for a while, Director Li murmured, “Ye Chen…Ye Chen is really good-looking…”
He wasn’t the only one who had this thought. Others who were on the scene also thought the same way.
Ye Chen had a beautiful figure. He wasn’t thin, his smooth and round shoulders together with his sleek back presented a wonderful silhouette. His fair skin turned slightly red upon being kissed by Ren Jing. His eyes were steamy and his lips were slightly trembling. All of these happened naturally; making him look particularly alluring…
He had an elegant and graceful beauty, like a treasure which people would want to hold in their hands to properly take good care of.
What was even more deadly was, this beauty was surprisingly sexy.
The contrasting visual impact he brought forth as he acted had tugged people’s heartstrings even more.
It was Ren Jing who called a halt to the shooting. His voice was slightly hoarse when he said, “Is this alright?”
Director Li hurriedly said, “Y…yes!”
Ren Jing frowned. He immediately took a blanket and tightly wrapped Ye Chen in it.
Ye Chen even pretended to sneeze, then said as he forced a smile, “It’s kinda chilly, huh!” As he finished talking, he wrapped the blanket tighter around himself.
Gu Xi said, “Go get dressed.”
Director Li also promptly said, “A Chen, you should immediately take a rest right away. That’s all for today!”
One must strike a balance between work and rest. Their efficiency had been very high today, and they had shot the most difficult scenes.
Ye Chen changed his clothes and went back to the hotel. Once they got into the room, Ren Jing asked him, “Did you experience anything sad?”
Being greatly cared for by someone like this, Ye Chen naturally felt warm inside his heart. He poured a cup of warm water, drank it up, then said, “Nothing really.”
Ren Jing didn’t ask further, but his eyes clearly showed that he was still worried.
Ye Chen didn’t want him to worry. After thinking about it for a while, he said, “I…thought of something back then.”
Ren Jing stared at him, waiting for him to finish his words.
Ye Chen paused for a moment. He pursed his lips then said with nonchalance, “If…,I’m just saying, if…”
He lifted his head to look at Ren Jing, then seriously asked, “If I die, would you…”
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Ren Jing interrupted him. He embraced Ye Chen tightly in his arms.
Ye Chen, “It’s an ‘if’, I’m just saying ‘if’…”
Ren Jing’s voice trembled when he said, “There won’t be that kind of ‘if’.”
Ye Chen’s heart felt sweet yet pained. He hugged Ren Jing back with both of his hands, then buried himself into his embrace. “But accidents would always happen in life.”
Ren Jing said, “I’ll protect you well, I…”
Ye Chen’s heart suddenly thumped. He wriggled himself free from Ren Jing’s embrace.
When the two parted, Ye Chen looked at Ren Jing. He said slowly, “If I die, would you…”
He couldn’t bring himself to finish the sentence.
But Ren Jing understood what he meant. He replied in a low voice, “I would.”
Ye Chen’s eyes were suddenly opened wide.
Ren Jing held Ye Chen in his arms again. The extent of his fear was so deep it couldn’t be dissolved when he said, “Chen Chen, please don’t talk about this anymore… You never know this, but you’re all I have in this world.”
If he even lost his only one, then he wouldn’t have had any purpose to exist anymore.
The author has something to say:
Tomorrow…should be the ‘confession’!
I personally liked the plot afterwards. I’ve imagined it since I started writing the novel, now I could finally write it down. I believe you’ll like it too.
My cold is getting quite severe so the update will be a bit late, sorry!
Oh yes, there won’t be any update tomorrow morning. I’ll update in the afternoon or at night instead. Smooches!
T/N: Man, I’d really love to see that smexy Chen Chen too…but Ren Jing definitely wouldn’t let me~~
Anyway…my PC got attacked by a virus (eek) and is at risks of getting all of the files in it removed. My trusted tech advisor (?) told me that the only way to fix it is to do complete reset and reinstall stuffs… Oh well, I suppose there’s nothing much I can do I think I’ll share my ‘experience’ with it in here later after my PC is back in shape again so that y’all could also be cautious of it.
In any case, the plot thickens! Regarding the ‘tell Ren Jing about Death System’ mission, more ‘truth’ will be revealed, and Ye Chen will be faced with a decision for him to make. His ‘choice’ is not the best, but I believe that his decision is the wisest after considering the two sides of the coin, the six sides of the dice, and idk, maybe all of the sides of the rhombicosidodecahedron (that’s exaggerating, but you get the point). I’ll talk about this in detail when the chapter is here, I hope you’ll be looking forward to it~
Lastly, I’ll open a ko-fi goal again in the near future. It would probably be the last time I’ll be using ko-fi, since my account has become quite dusty at this point…and I don’t like to keep so many accounts in the internet anymore. Anyhoo, long story short, I’ve finally started a therapy to (hopefully) improve my mental health using a regular counseling and medications. The cost is kind of burdening me honestly, given that I couldn’t earn much with my condition. So, every donations would help me a lot! Consider it as a ‘health potion’ to (hopefully) help me recover, with sponsored chapters as the gift! Thank you~
Thank you very much for reading like always! Please take good care of yourselves, remember to drink a lot of water, wear your mask, wash your hands, and pay attention to the protocols in your place. Please consider getting a check-up if you don’t feel well. Let’s do our best so that the pandemic would end soon!
