Chapter 127: Nine-Petaled Heavenly Seizure Record! (III)
Translator: Storm in a Teacup
On Tai Hua Mountain, Xuan Lingzi violated the contract, hurrying his way to the Fiend Realm; at the inner Demon Realm, the four Demon Exalts were awakening after all these years; inside the Fiend Palace, the Fiend Cultivator dressed in scarlet was commanding an urgent search… However, Luo Jianqing knew none of these.
The past forty years were flashing inside his mind.
Luo Jianqing had no idea that he even remembered what was happening when he was born. Crying, the couple, a tough man and a pretty woman, pushed him into the turbulent river and watched him floating away. They couldn’t held back the whining; on Luo River, an immortal revealed himself and held the infant in his arms. That day, he was given a name.
He grew up on Tai Hua Mountain along with many other sisters and brothers, and was head over heels in love with his Master. He knew he shouldn’t expect to be his one-and-only. At least, he comforted himself, he would be his one-and-only disciple. Nonetheless, that day, his Master granted another guy to be his disciple. Jealousy took the better of his heart. He started to secretly inflict his Younger Brother and was then kicked out of Tai Hua Mountain. He was hunted by hundreds of others. Finally, his Master found him. Pushing him to the edge of the cliff, his Master pierced through his chest, using Xuan Ling Sword.
He heard him saying, “I, Xuan Lingzi, will not admit that you were my disciple!”
Hopes, wonders, what he’s been living up to, were all extinguished by these several words.
Luo Jiangqing could no longer lift his arm. He felt his body gradually turning cold and stiff. He was just lying there, watching flame burning his Primordial Life, bearing lava devouring his Spiritual Vines, losing all of his intention to fight back.
Death seemed like a pain-relief pill. If he died, he would have all rightful reasons to discard the troubles; if he died, he might be able to forget the suffering caused by his unrequited love; if he died, wouldn’t it be…
“Jianqing, please don’t leave me… don’t die. What should I do without you…”
Opening his eyes immediately, Luo Jianqing got away from the luring Internal Demon.
It was like a terrible nightmare. The Internal Demon let him into a mirage of his last life and exaggerated his hatred and jealousy, making him believe he committed some crime he never did before. Above all, it tampered his memory – his Master was portrayed as the person who ended his life.
The Internal Demon was hidden deep down in his heart all the time.
Although Luo Jianqing already knew that, in their last life, Xuan Lingzi never thought about killing him, instead, his Master never denied him as his disciple even till the last moment.
However, Xuan Lingzi did grant Li Xiuchen a spot on Yu Xiao Peak and put all his effort on teaching his new disciple.
Assuming Xuan Lingzi had a proper reason, Luo Jianqing never asked Xuan Lingzi for an explanation. Nonetheless, he cared about this much more than he thought.
Gazing at the darkness surrounding him, Luo Jianqing forced a smile, “It happened in our last life. He never did such things in this life. Even if I want to know the truth… from whom I can get an answer?”
Scorching lava was still flooding through his vines, but now, Luo Jianqing was determined to fight back.
Sitting up, Luo Jianqing begun to operate Nine Heavenly Seizure Record regardless the pain.
The power was right there, sleeping in his Dan Tian, lying still. The Burning Energy never dare to get close to the Power while the latter ignored it completely. Now, however, Luo Jianqing managed to take rein of the power of Nine Heavenly Seizure Record. Under his control, the Power pounced on the Burning Energy.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Blood tear was dripping down from his tightly shut eyes. Gritting his teeth, he didn’t stop.
The two forces burst into a dogfight. They once managed to share Luo Jianqing’s body, but after the Power started the war, the Burning Energy fought back as well. Every single bump of the two forced Luo Jianqing to tremble with a badly injured Dan Tian.
The young cultivator didn’t know what the burning energy was, nor did he know whether it would work if using Nine Heavenly Seizure Record’s power to attack, but this was his only way out. Even his Primordial Life was extinguished by the Burning Energy, what else could he do?
The fight lasted for one hour. The lava of Burning Energy was destroyed a little, but the Power was weakened as well. His Dan Tian was shattered like broken glass. Luo Jianqing was still pushing his limits, but it wouldn’t be long before he collapsed.
At last, another bump between the two forces became the last straw – Luo Jianqing fainted, unable to operate Nine Heavenly Seizure Record anymore. The Power came to a stop at once. Having sensed the weakening of its opponent, the Burning Energy pounced toward it like roaring waves, as if it’s going to seize its moment to fully destroy the Power.
Suddenly, Luo Jianqing’s Dan Tian started to glow incandescently in bice.
The Fiend Cultivator who was waiting aside heard the rumbling of thunder. Getting outside to take a look at what was going on, he saw, unexpectedly, a firmament overcast by darkness. The clouds were thick and the wind was fierce, all marching toward the center like a parade of galloping mustangs. Getting closer and closer, the clouds started to twist and formed a terrifying whirlwind, exposing a gigantic wind-eye connecting the earth to the sky.
The whirlwind was coiling one hundred miles away from the Fiend Cultivator, as if it could devour everything and anything.
The ugly Fiend Elder frowned, “What the hell is happening?!”
In the darkened space, fainted Luo Jianqing didn’t know that, under the power of Nine Heavenly Seizure Record, a bice lotus blossomed on his Dan Tian. The lotus gradually stretched out its nine petals, and each one of the petals was glittering in light bice. Each angle of blossoming petal was perfectly depicted; the contour of the flower was so impressive that it could be described as the most brilliant work of the Heavenly Will.
After the lotus fully revealed itself, the Burning Energy inside Luo Jianqing’s body immediately started to back up in terror.
A hoarse voice said, “Disciple of Yu Xiao Peak, this is your given opportunity. Are you capable of surviving from the tribulation this time?”
What answered him was Luo Jianqing’s tightly-shut eyes – he didn’t wake up.
Waiting for several minutes but only getting silence answering him, the mysterious person sighed, “Well, since you are a disciple of Yu Xiao Peak, who is cultivating on Nine Heavenly Seizure Record, I shall give you a hand to come over this tribulation. However, I cannot guarantee a happy ending this time. Your fate is all depending on the Heavenly Will. The Heaven has changed for thirty thousand years, and I’ve been waiting for the same length of time. Disciple of Yu Xiao Peak, are you capable of taking over the Heavenly Will… are you capable of setting me free… are you capable of… are you…”
A beam of scarlet light was generated by the bice lotus and trapped the Burning Energy which was trying to sneak away.
Once the energy was exposed under the light, it calmed down immediately as if all of its aggression was taken away. Tamed like a lamb, the Burning Energy was converted into pure Spiritual Power and started to irrigate Luo Jianqing’s arid Spiritual Vines, healing and mending the damaged.
The moment the young cultivator was fully recovered, the bice lotus withered little by little and disappeared in the end.
At the same time, outside the unknown space, the whirlwind was gone in a blink. The old Fiend Cultivator vigilantly stared at the direction where the twist vanished and then hurried back into the cave. Since he couldn’t summon the gigantic black furnace back into his Interspatial Ring, the Fiend Cultivator carried it on his back and fled from the site.
In the Fiend Realm, every Fiend Cultivator noticed this whirlwind. Low-level Fiend Cultivators were scared by the immense power dispersed from the phenomenon, so they started to running away from it. However, some bold Fiend Cultivators flew toward the whirlwind instead, hoping they could reap some opportunities.
In front of the Fiend Palace, a Fiend Cultivator dressed in scarlet gazed at the scene in shock. Toes lightly tapping the ground, he rushed toward the whirlwind.
“Luo Jianqing! You are not allowed to die! You are not… you are not allowed to die in my realm!”
Above the river at the border of Yun State and the Fiend Realm, Xuan Lingzi’s pupil shrank. He fixed his eyes on the whirlwind which was gradually vanishing. Without any hesitation, the Master changed direction straight away, heading to the eye of the wind.
“Jianqing, wait for me… hold on! I’m coming!”
